Montreal: Tiger Woods shot a 5-under-par 65 on Thursday to share the lead after the first round of the Bell Canadian Open. He shares the lead with Jim McGovern, Matt Gogel and rookie Michael Muehr. Mark O'Meara was one shot behind after having to deal with windier conditions along with the new BMW International Open champion John Daly. Perfect early morning conditions gave way to heavy winds on Thursday afternoon at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. Nick Price played an excellent approach shot despite the heavy afternoon winds on the 15th on his way to a one-under-par 69. Daly, who won his first tournament in six years last weekend at the BMW Open shot a bogey-free 66 including a birdie on the 17th. Heavy winds made it difficult to drive on the fairway and Mark O'Meara played a difficult approach shot to save par on the ninth and finished tied with Daly at 66. Woods, who won his first title of the summer two weeks ago at the NEC Invitational championships put up another good show. He finished the day with a birdie on the 18th for a total of 65 and is now joint leader with three others.
