Tiger Woods unveiled a new Nike driver on Tuesday by hitting golf balls down the runway of Hawthorne Regional Airport in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles:

World number one Tiger Woods found himself on an airport runway in Los Angeles on Tuesday, bombing 400 yard plus drives down the tarmac. Though Woods was using the newest Nike drivers, the concrete certainly gave him a bit of added length. The drivers - the SasQuatch Sumo Squared and the SasQuatch Sumo - feature a unique shape and will be hitting the market in early 2007. Woods continued to build on an already prolific career in 2006, capturing 8 titles, including both the British Open and the PGA Championship. Woods earned close to US$ 10 million in prize money in the calendar year.(AP)
