Marc Cayeux leads Scandinavian Masters

Zimbabwean Marc Cayeux takes a one-stroke lead after the opening round of the Scandinavian Masters in Kungsgarden, Sweden on Thursday.

Zimbabwean Marc Cayeux shot an 8-under-par round of 63 to take a one-stroke lead after the opening round of the Scandinavian Masters in Kungsgarden, Sweden on Thursday. Cayeux, who has been struggling in his rookie season on the European Tour, made an eagle and six birdies to lead by one shot from Englishman Barry Lane who made eight birdies and an eagle in his round. One shot further back on 6-under were Australian Mark Hensby and Robert Karlsson of Sweden. Thirteen players shared fifth place on 5-under including Swedes Per-Ulrik Johansson, Pelle Edberg and Henrik Nystrom. Australian Adam Scott failed to make a serious impact, shooting a one-under 70 for a share of 72nd place. (AP)
