Ancaster: Justin Rose has taken a one-shot lead into Sunday's 4th and final round of the Canadian Open. The 26-year-old Englishman shot a bogey-free 5-under 65 on Saturday in good scoring conditions on the rain-softened Hamilton Golf and Country Club course. Trevor Immelman, in a group of four tied for 2nd place one shot behind Rose, birdied the 8th hole to briefly take the lead at 9-under par. He shot a 66 on Saturday. The 26-year-old South African is the last player to beat Tiger Woods, edging him out by two strokes in the Western Open in early July for his first PGA Tour title. Camillo Villegas is tied for 4th place, at 8-under par. His approach on the 9th hole left him well within range of a birdie. Villegas shot a 3rd-round 69. Good show Rose, ranked 98th in the world, is playing much better than his ranking would imply. He played a near-perfect approach on the 10th hole, and moments later would birdie the hole to take the lead at 10-under. It was the first of two birdies on the back nine for Rose. He birdied his first three holes of the day. Brett Quigley is one of three players tied for 3rd place at 9-under par. His birdie on the 12th hole lowered his score to 8-under par. Steve Lowery also has a share of 3rd place. He certainly helped his cause with an eagle putt on the 17th hole which lowered his score to 9-under. Lowery shot a 65. (AP)
