Murcia: Ryder Cup star Miguel Angel Jimenez set a course record on his very first outing at a new resort in Murcia. The world number 23 shot a five under par 67 in a round that included seven birdies at the 7,300 yard Hacienda Del Alamo, situated near the town of Fuente Alamo. "It is my first time here at this golf course. It looks and feels very new but the conditions are superb. The grass all over the course is in great condition, makes the ball roll very good," he said. "I think they have the right kind of grass on the course and it is very nice," he added. Jimenez has also signed up to be the tour ambassador for the resort, carrying its name and logo on his bag. The Spaniard is taking a short break from the PGA circuit but is says he is fit and ready to play competitive golf again. "I am on two weeks of holiday now and I am working in the gym, and I practice a little. I am feeling okay, trying to improve some parts of my game," he said. The course is one of two to be built on the multi-million dollar upmarket resort, built on 550 hectares near the town of Fuente Alamo. (AP)
