Jeev zooms to tied 17th in Cologne

Jeev Milkha Singh raised his game to tied 17 after the second round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship.

Cologne, Germany:

Jeev Milkha Singh raised his game and brought home a card of two-under 70 to jump 15 places to tied 17 after the second round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship.

Overnight tied 32, Jeev aggregated one-under 143 to stay around for weekend action at the European Tour.

Compatriots SSP Chowrasia and Jyoti Randhawa also made the cut. Chowrasia carded an improved four-over 76 to be placed tied 71 while Randhawa just squeezed inside the cutline after returning erratic 11-over 83 to be at 77th spot.

Jeev returned a flawless front nine, studded with as many as three birdies, to make the turn at three-under.

On resumption, the Chandigarh golfer birdied the 10th but a couple of bogeys at the 14th and 16th dashed his hopes of a better finish.

At the top, Robert Karlsson blasted an eight-under 69 to grab the led, while Jean-Francois Lucquin (71) and Peter hanson (69) were placed second and third with an aggregate of seven-under 137 and six-under 138 respectively.
