Jeev jumps 9 spots in world rankings

Ace Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh's splendid title win on Japan Tour last week has propelled him nine places up to 66th in the World Golf Rankings.

Ace Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh's splendid title win on Japan Tour last week has propelled him nine places up to 66th in the latest World Golf Rankings.

Jeev, who was ranked 75th prior to his triumph in the Nagashima Shegio Invitational Sega Sammy Cup in Hokkaido on Sunday, also continues to be the highest-ranked Indian in the world.

Jyoti Randhawa (88th), who is the second-highest ranked in the country.

Jeev, with three titles on Japan Tour, is now placed seventh on the Japan Golf Tour's Order of Merit.

The Chandigarh-based professional has been in supreme form this year as he has registered two wins, two runner-up finishes and four other top 10s besides a tied 11th at the Johnnie Walker Classic held in India.

His tied 25th at the US Masters this year was also the best-ever finish by an Indian at a Major.

The 2006 Asia number one is currently placed 11th (Euro 901,413) on the European Tour Order of Merit and second (USD 540,694) on the Asian Tour Order of Merit.

Jeev will play at another Japan Golf Tour event this week, the Sun Chlorella Classic, before heading to Michigan, United States for the year's last Major, the USPGA Championship.
