Jeev, Chowrasia, Shiv Kapur miss cut in BMW Championship

Virginia Water:

Jyoti Randhawa raised his game just in time to hang around for weekend action but the Indian trio of SSP Chowrasia, Shiv Kapur and Jeev Milkha Singh fell by the wayside after their wayward second rounds in the BMW PGA Championship.

Randhawa's vastly improved second round of four-under 68 took his two-day total to three-under 141 and placed him tied 20th, also keeping him in the hunt for a decent finish. None of his compatriots, however, were equally lucky.

Overnight tied 12th, Chowrasia had a nightmarish second round of five-over 77 and his aggregate of three-over 147 was not enough to prolong his stay.

The Indian Masters winner began ominously as he double bogeyed the opening hole. Four bogeys added to his woes and his lone birdie came in the 16th but by then his campaign was well over.

Overnight tied 26th, Shiv Kapur (147) too looked primed for a string finish before everything went haywire for the Delhi lad, who returned a card of four-over 76. He too had just one birdie to show, as against five bogeys that marred his card.

Jeev Milkha Singh's goose had already been cooked by a horrendous opening round of 78 and he turned in two-over 74 to crash out with an aggregate of eight-over 152. Jeev managed two birdies but dropped four bogeys as well to complete his forgettable outing.

In contrast, Randhawa was composed and the third hole bogey was the lone blot on a card which included five birdies, including three on his back nine.

Paul McGinley (131) blasted six-under 66 to maintain his sole lead and stay four shots ahead of Robert Karlsson (69) and Miles Tunnicliff (65).
