Green leads Qatar Open

World number three Ernie Els clawed his way from the brink of elimination by firing a three-under par 69 in the second round of the Qatar Masters.

World number three Ernie Els clawed his way from the brink of elimination by firing a three-under par 69 in the second round of the Qatar Masters on Friday. The South African will play at the weekend, but is seven shots off the lead, which is held by Australian left-hander Richard Green. Green carded a four-under 68 to stand at nine-under-par. He is one shot in front of the Swedish duo of Pierre Fulke, the overnight leader, and Robert Karlsson. (AP)
