Teenage golf sensation Michelle Wie will play the men's PGA Tour and try for a slot at the British Open next week.

Silvis:
The main attraction at the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois this week will be a 15-year-old Michelle Wie who accepted a sponsor's exemption to play in the PGA Tour event. The highest-finishing non-exempt player at the Deere will receive an invitation to The Open at St Andrews, even if that player is a woman. Wie, an amateur, finished second at this year's LPGA Championship and took the lead into the final round of the women's US Open last week until unraveling into 23rd place. She also has become the first woman to qualify for the men's US Amateur Public Links championship.
