Sun City:

Twenty-one-year-old Spaniard Sergio Garcia sank a chip shot from the fringe on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff with South Africa's Ernie Els to win the $ 4.06 million Nedbank Golf Challenge on Sunday. The win meant the world number five would go home richer by $ 2 million. Garcia and Els were tied at 20-under-par 268 after 72 holes of regulation when a dramatic hailstorm interrupted play during the final few holes of the tournament at the Gary Player Country Club. Garcia came from behind on the final round with a brilliant nine-under-par 63 to catch Els, who shot a 69.
