Andalucia, Spain:

Spaniards Sergio Garcia and Jose Manuel Lara both carded four under par 67s to share the lead after the opening round of the Volvo Masters at Valderrama in Andalucia, Spain on Thursday. The pair lead by one shot from Englishman Brian Davis and Scotland's Alastair Forsyth. The Volvo Masters is one of the biggest tournaments on the European Tour, but this year it is missing the top two players on the money list in South Africans Ernie Els and Retief Goosen. There are, however, still plenty of big names involved, including Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez. (AP)
