Ernie Els won the World Match Play title for a record sixth time, beating Lee Westwood 2&1 to earn the biggest prize in golf of $1.8 million.

Ernie Els won the World Match Play title for a record sixth time, beating Lee Westwood 2&1 to earn the biggest prize in golf of $1.8 million. The South African's victory came when he holed a 20-foot putt at the 17th - the 37th hole of the day - and it confirmed a third win in a row in the event. And all that came on his 35th birthday at a course where he feels at home, going to prove that you can always bank on Ernie Els at the HSBC World Match Play. (AP)
