Kapalua:

Defending champion Daniel Chopra remained upwardly mobile and brought home a six-under 67 to leapfrog to tied 24th after the penultimate round of the $5.6 million Mercedes-Benz Championship here.

The Indian-born Swede, who had a disastrous opening round of 79, turned his best card of the week so far to stay in hunt for a decent finish with a three-day total of four-under 215.

The sixth hole bogey was the lone blot in Chopra's otherwise impeccable card as he blasted five birdies before firing an eagle on the par-five 15th hole at the Plantation Course of the Kapalua Resort.

Ath the top, Geoff Ogilvy (200) continued his sensational form and carded eight-under 65 to open up a six-shot lead over Justin Leonard (65) and D J Trahan (70).
