San Diego:

Arjun Atwal finished tied for fourth at nine under par, just one shot behind Tiger Woods at the Buick Invitational. Atwal, the only Indian to have a PGA tour card shot into contention in the third round with a great round. But the tournament clearly belonged to Woods, who made simple pars to win a three-way playoff against Australian rookie Nathan Green and two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal. For Woods, it was the fourth time in 10 years that he won in his first US PGA Tour event of the year.
