Shanghai:

If further support was needed for the claim that Valentino Rossi is one of the most talented men ever to straddle a motorbike, it came in Shanghai on Sunday. Riding in awful conditions, the Italian battled from sixth place on the grid to win the MotoGP category of the inaugural Chinese Grand Prix. And just three events into the new season, the Yamaha man already looks well on course for yet another world title. Casey Stoner was victorious in the 250's - Mattia Pasini muscled his way to victory in the 125's. (AP)
