Valentino Rossi said he is sticking to motorcycles and won't move to Formula One.

Rome:

Valentino Rossi said he is sticking to motorcycles and won't move to Formula One. One of Italy's most popular sporting figures, Rossi has tested an F1 car several times with Ferrari. He said Ferrari had said it would welcome him to join the team on a permanent basis in 2007. "No Formula One, at least for the time being. I'm staying with motorcycles," Rossi was quoted as saying by the ANSA news agency. He announced his decision as he's struggling to defend his fifth MotoGP title. "I believe that my work in motorcycling is not yet over," Rossi told Gazzetta dello Sport's web site. "I still have many stimuli and I think I will continue in MotoGP still for a while". Seven-time champion Michael Schumacher said he was sorry, but thought Rossi's choice was understandable. (AP)
