Antalya:
World Rally championship leader Sebastien Loeb remains on course for his fourth win of the season after the second day of the Rally of Turkey on Saturday. The French Citroen driver won three of the day's six stages and takes a 15.9 second lead over the Peugeot of Marcus Gronholm, who came through a worrying moment on Special Stage 11 when a piece of rock penetrated the underside of the car and slightly injured his co-driver, Timo Rautiainen. Current world champion Petter Solberg lies third, but is over 50 seconds off the pace, and his chances of a third win in four events are receding. The best-placed Ford driver, Belgium's Francois Duval, faded after opening the day with two second places and now lies over four minutes behind the leader back in fifth. At one stage in the day, there was a bitter three-way battle for fourth place between Duval, last year's winner Carlos Sainz of Spain and the Harri Rovanpera, driving another Peugeot. Rovanpera was forced to retire with gearbox failure on the last stage of the day, leaving Sainz clear, but over a minute behind the Subaru of Solberg. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
