Silverstone:

Narain Karthikeyan's hopes of an impressive show at his Jordan team's home circuit came to a grinding halt in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone circuit. Karthikeyan's poor run in Formula One continued when he withdrew from the race on lap 11 after facing mechanical problems in his car. He had qualified 17th on the starting grid without encountering any major technical hitches on Saturday. Speaking exclusively to NDTV shortly after the race, Karthikeyan said he was extremely frustrated by the mechanical failure that caused him to retire. "I had a very good start and overtook (Felipe) Massa but unfortunately he was able to repass me at Becketts," Karthikeyan said. His Jordan teammate Tiago Monteiro also started the race from the back of the grid after an engine change. (With PTI inputs)
