India's first formula one star Narain Karthikeyan on Monday exuded confidence that he would be more consistent this year and help bring Team India to the top six by winning more races.

"We will do better than last year. Last year due to my injury we missed a few points. Our plan is to be more consistent and bring the team into the top six by winning more races and more podiums", he told reporters on the sidelines of the launch function of 'Amaron Karting Challenge 2008' in Chennai.

"We will be announcing the team in a week or two", he added.

Karthikeyan, who had won the season-ending A1GP in UK on May 4 last, said his future plan right now was to participate in Grand Prix (A1GP). "My furter plan right now is A1GP, the Ferrari new car, and it has become pretty high profile championship with Ferrari getting involved".

"The car and engine are designed from Ferrari, which is based on the Formula one car from 2005", he said.

Narain, who made his Formula One debut in 2005 with Jordan team, pointed out that that motor sports in the country had developed a lot due to the sponsorship of corporates giants.
