New Delhi:

If it has been a dramatic season with a dramatic end, it only stands to reason that the aftermath should be just as dramatic.

McLaren has decided to contest a decision by the FIA to ignore fuel irregularities by the Sauber and Williams's teams during the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Late on Sunday night, race stewards concluded their investigation by deciding not to punish the two teams in question.

Had the Williams and Sauber teams been found guilty and disqualified, Lewis Hamilton would have moved into fourth place and taken the world title from Kimi Raikkonen.

Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso says he's embarrassed by McLarens' decision to try and win the 2008 drivers title on a technicality and that Raikkonen is a deserving champion.

He says his team lost the championship by making wrong decisions late in the season and by not helping him enough.

So, the season is over, but the verbal jousting continues.
