The FIA is investigating Team McLaren for a possible breach of the International Sporting code during Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.

Sunday's race saw Lewis Hamilton finish second to McLaren teammate Fernando Alonso.

That after team boss Ron Dennis apparently asked the rookie driver to "take it easy" when trying to chase down the world champion.

Dennis later said those orders were part of a team strategy to win the Monaco GP and did not reflect any sort of favouritism.

Such team orders have been banned in Formula One since Ferrari told Rubens Barrichello to allow teammate Michael Schumacher to overtake him to win the 2002 Austrian Grand Prix.
