Top teams for Durand Cup
Mohun Bagan and East Bengal among teams which will vie for top honours in 114th Durand Cup football tournament.

Defending champions Mohun Bagan and East Bengal are among the teams which will vie for top honours in the 114th Durand Cup football tournament beginning here today. Nine premier teams playing in the National Football League have been directly seeded into the quarterfinal league along with an under-19 Indian squad. The preliminary stage of the tournament involving six teams will start today with Delhi's City Football Club taking on EME Centre, Secunderabad. The preliminary stage will be played on knock-out basis with the pre-quarter-finals to be played on a league-cum-knock-out basis. There will be four groups of three teams each in the quarter-finals league with the winner of the each group making it to the last four. The following 10 teams have been directly seeded to the quarter-final league: Group A: Mohun Bagan, JCT, ITI Group B: East Bengal, Salgaocar, Punjab Police Group C: Mahindra United, FC Kochin Group D: Churchill Brothers, India under-19.Topics mentioned in this article
