Tollygunge Agragami reaped the fruits of fast counter-attacks to stun a star-studded but lacklustre Mahindra United 3-2 in the seventh National Football League here today. The Kolkata outfit, considered underdogs before the match, played within their limitations and utilised chinks in the Mahindra defence with sudden forward thrusts to log full points at the Salt Lake stadium. The winners took an early lead through Asim Biswas, before Nigerian Odartey Lawson restored parity towards close of the first half. But the later session saw the hosts score a brace within a space of 18 minutes to stamp their authority over the match. While Laltu Das netted in the 54th minute, Akeem Abulalem found the target in the 72nd minute, before Mahindra's Ivory Coast striker M A Samson slotted home a reducer two minutes from close to make the final scoreline 3-2. Tollygunge, who lost 0-2 to East Bengal in their lung-opener, now have three points, the same as Mahindra. Both have played two matches. (PTI)
