London:
The Argentina striker, who scored West Ham's winner in a 1-0 victory at United's Old Trafford on the final day of last season to guarantee the Hammers Premier League safety, will be wearing a Red Devils shirt for the next two years, according to Sky Sports News.
Sky said that sources close to Tevez, who is in Venezuela playing for his country in the Copa America, had agreed a two year loan deal with United, which then has the option to buy him.
While his registration stays with West Ham, United will pay his wages - reportedly four million pounds over the two years.
The move needs the permission of the Premier League, however, after the problems that surrounded Tevez' move to West Ham last season.
When the Hammers signed Tevez and countryman Javier Mascherano from Brazilian club Corinthians, the club was found to have broken Premier League rules because their contracts were owned by a third party.
West Ham was fined 5.5 million pounds by an independent panel appointed by the Premier League while its rivals in the relegation struggle argued that it should have had at least three points taken away.
While Tevez' goal at Old Trafford meant that West Ham stayed up, Sheffield United was relegated. The Blades are now taking their legal fight to stay in the top flight to the High Court having had their initial appeal turned down by an arbitration panel.
