Sweden coach gets extension

Sweden coach Lars Lagerback has extended his contract for two years, keeping him charge of the team through the 2008 European Championship.

Sweden coach Lars Lagerback has extended his contract for two years, keeping him charge of the team through the 2008 European Championship. Lagerback is the only coach to help lead Sweden to four consecutive major championships. He had been contracted through next year's World Cup in Germany, where the Swedes will face England, Paraguay and Trinidad and Tobago in Group B. Assistant coach Roland Andersson also received a two-year contract extension, the Swedish Football Association said. (AP)
