Manchester:

Manchester City defender David Sommeil was charged by the Football Association with violent conduct on Friday over a tackle on Tottenham's Lee Young-Pyo. Spurs manager Martin Jol described the challenge as one of the worst he had seen. It was not spotted by referee Alan Wiley, who had just blown for a foul by Spurs' Michael Brown on City's Joey Barton, which earned the Tottenham player a yellow card. Lee was carried off the field with a knee injury following the tackle during Wednesday's game and is expected to miss at least three matches. French defender Sommeil faces a three-game suspension if he admits the charge or is found guilty. (AP)
