Sao Paulo Football Club of Brazil beat Mohun Bagan 2-0 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata to score their third successive victory in the Super Soccer series. Sao Paulo drew first blood in the 27th minute when a splendid free kick by Marco Antonio curved in past Bagan's defensive wall and the outstretched hand of keeper Sangram Mukherjee. The visitors doubled their lead in the 77th minute when Flavio headed home a volley taken by Antinio. Bagan had to play more than half the match with 10 men after ace striker Bhaichung Bhutia was shown the red card for hitting Sao Paulo defender Flavio three minutes before half time. The Brazilian outfit defeated East Bengal 3-0 at Siliguri and Mohammedan Sporting 6-0 at Jamshedpur earlier.
