Oswaldo Sanchez rejoined Mexico's national team on Saturday.

Goettingen:

Oswaldo Sanchez rejoined Mexico's national team on Saturday. He flew back to his family's hometown of Guadalajara on Thursday, a day after his father Felipe Sanchez died of a heart attack. "I'm ready for Sunday's match," Sanchez said after the team's workout at Nuremberg's Frankenstadion. The younger Sanchez took a charter flight back from Mexico. He and assistant coach Jorge Campos arrived in Nuremberg late Saturday afternoon, about the time the rest of the team got in by train from its World Cup base in Goettingen. He took part in practice Saturday. Sanchez's return saves Mexico from having to use an inexperienced backup against Iran. Jesus Corona, who practiced as the team's No. 1 keeper in Sanchez's absence, has played only six times with the national team. (AP)
