England revived their Euro 2004 campaign by beating Switzerland 3-0 in a group B league match at Coimbra.

England revived their Euro 2004 campaign by beating Switzerland 3-0 in a group B league match at Coimbra. Wayne Rooney put the English ahead in the 23rd minute when he headed a pass from Michael Owen into the goal. While helping England take the lead, the 18-year-old Rooney became the youngest goal-scorer in the European Cup. Rooney scored again in the 75th minute. Seven minutes later, Steven Gerrard added to England's tally making it 3-0. After its shock defeat against France in the first match at Lisbon, today's win would boost England's chances of reaching the knockout stage of Euro 2004.
