London:
Wayne Rooney would miss the start of England's World Cup campaign. Rooney has a broken right foot but could be back in training in under three weeks. Earlier, Rooney underwent an MRI scan on his right foot on Thursday. On Friday, it was informed that he would not be fit in time for any of England's group stage games. Rooney would be seen in action in Germany only if England makes it to the pre-quarterfinal stage. The Manchester United striker would undergo another scan on June 14 to determine exactly when he can return to action. Meanwhile, the England team management has to decide by June 9 whether they would include the 20-year-old in the squad.Topics mentioned in this article
