Two people killed, 14 injured following clashes between supporters of Racing Club and Independiente in the Argentinina Clausura championships.

Buenos Aires:

Two people were killed and another 14 injured following clashes between supporters of Racing Club and Independiente in the Argentine Clausura championships on Sunday. Riot police patrolled the streets of Buenos Aires in the aftermath of the violent clashes. Those hurt were taken to nearby hospitals and treated for various injuries. A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition. The kick-off to the match, which Independiente went on to win 2-1, was also affected by trouble makers, who threw smoke bombs at one of the players.
