Salt Lake City:

Real Madrid will play Real Salt Lake, the Major League Soccer team named after the Spanish powerhouse, in a friendly at Rice-Eccles Stadium on August 12. The announcement was made by Dave Checketts, the owner of Real Salt Lake, a second-year MLS side. The clubs share a name, which means "royal" in Spanish, and have the same colours, complete with crowns on top of the team emblem. The Reals are working on a partnership, which Checketts said could lead to things such as youth soccer academies and joint training for player development. The match will be Real Madrid's only US match. (AP)
