Ramos extends contract

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos signed a two-year contract extension on Wednesday that ties him to the Spanish champion through 2013.

The 21-year-old Spain international was the club's most expensive defensive acquisition until the arrival of FC Porto's Pepe on Tuesday for $41 million.
