Oporto:

English champions Manchester United visit runaway Portuguese league leaders Porto on Wednesday in the first leg of their tie in the first knock-out stage of the European Champions League. Both clubs are former winners of the trophy. Porto coach Jose Mourinho was happy to see his team as the underdogs, while, for his part, United's Sir Alex Ferguson emphasised the need to come away from Portugal with at least one away goal. The Portuguese team, who won last season's UEFA Cup, lead their domestic championship by seven points, while Manchester United, English champions last year, have shown patchy form in recent weeks and a series of disappointing results have left them trailing Arsenal in the Premiership by the same number of points. Porto, who were also Portuguese Cup winners last season, qualified in second place in the group stage behind Real Madrid, earning a creditable draw at the Bernabeu and eliminating Marseille and Partizan Belgrade.
