Warsaw:

The United States will play Poland on March 1 as part of the teams' preparations for next year's World Cup in Germany. The match will be in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Poland's soccer federation said Wednesday. The US Soccer Federation didn't confirm the game, saying contract details have not been finalized. The USSF also said the site was not definite. The United States has traditionally struggled against European countries, and lost 3-1 to Poland at the 2002 World Cup. It faces Italy, Ghana, and the Czech Republic in the first round of the World Cup, which starts June 9. Poland will be up against host Germany, Costa Rica and Ecuador. (AP)
