Petit, a Portuguese international midfielder, converted a long-range free kick in the 81st minute for his third goal of the season. Benfica improved to 51 points after 22 rounds, one shy of the league-leading champion which travels to the Lisbon club's Stadium of Light in the 23rd round April 1. Porto lost 1-0 at home against third-placed Sporting on Saturday.
