Madrid: Achille Webo's 37th-minute goal helped visiting Osasuna secure a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in a first-leg match of the Copa del Rey's fifth round. Webo made the most of Osasuna's only first-half chance by converting defender Miguel Flano's bouncing cross from the left to boost his team's chances of reaching the quarterfinals of Spain's knockout competition. Atletico captain Fernando Torres equalized in the 74th minute when he controlled the ball on the corner of the penalty area before delivering a curling shot which gave goalkeeper Ricardo Lopez no chance. Osasuna, which has never won the Copa del Rey, will host Atletico in the second leg next week. Atletico, which won its last of nine titles in Spain's knockout competition in 1996, was forced to play nearly the entire second half with 10 men after central defender Pablo Ibanez was ejected for a two-footed tackle on Webo in the 48th minute. The Cameroon striker was carried off the field on a stretcher but returned several minutes later. Playing before a sparse crowd at Vicente Calderon stadium, Atletico dominated the game and had several scoring chances. Teenage striker Sergio Aguero lobbed the ball just wide of Ricardo's right post in the 27th minute, while the Osasuna goalkeeper's acrobatic save prevented Torres from equalising in the 60th with a diving header. The match was a reunion of sorts for Atletico coach Javier Aguirre. The most successful coach in Osasuna's history, the Mexican completed a four-year spell last season by earning the club its first berth in the European Champions League. Other first-leg, fifth-round matches have FC Barcelona at second-division Alaves on Wednesday as well as Rayo Vallecano vs Sevilla, Valladolid vs Villarreal, Malaga vs Zaragoza, Mallorca vs Deportivo La Coruna, and Getafe vs Valencia. Real Madrid plays at Real Betis on Thursday.
