Philadelphia:
Italian League Champion AC Milan wrapped up their North American tour on Monday night with a match against Chelsea at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Gudjohnsen put the Londoners up 1-0 in the 19th minute when he nimbly deflected Scott Parker's free-kick from the left past goaltender Christian Abbiati. Brazilian international Cafu pulled the Italian Serie A side even in the 26th minute with a spectacular volley from the right wing. Andriy Shevchenko passed to Cafu who one-timed a shot past netminder Carlo Cudicini, who was caught off line. Arjen Drogba, making his first start in a Chelsea shirt, gave the English club a 2-1 lead heading into halftime. The Ivory Coast striker authoritatively knocked in Frank Lampard's corner from the right past Abbiati for the 2-1 Chelsea lead. Milan pulled even for the second time in the match when Alessandro Costacurta knocked in a corner from Kaka in the 76th minute. Glen Johnson was booked for a dangerous tackle on Serginho in the 85 minute that set up the winner for Milan. Shevchenko lasered a low shot directly inside the right-hand post, handing Milan the 3-2 win. Milan finished up 2-0 on its North American tour while Chelsea, which opens its Premier League season August 15 against Manchester United, was 2-1. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
