Manchester, England:

Manchester City has confirmed it had rejected an offer from Turkish club Besiktas for striker Darius Vassell.

"We would resist another approach from Besiktas, for now at least," new City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson told the Manchester Evening News. Vassell joined City for 2 million pounds from Aston Villa in 2005.
