Mumbai:
Mumbai's Mahindra United dished out an unimpressive display, lacking cohesion, and were held to a 1-1 draw by Goa's Vasco in the ONGC National Football League encounter at the Cooperage ground in Mumbai. Mahindras were not at all impressive right through the match and were bogged down by a spate of mispasses. They were in fact in arrears too following a 16th minute strike by Vasco's Brazilian import Savio Soares who was fed by Sydney Rodrigues to head home over rival goalkeeper Sandip Nandy. Showing some urgency after falling behind the local outfit restored parity ten minutes later through their own Brazilian recruit Rodrigo De Almeida. Almeida headed in a deflection off a defender after a corner kick taken from the left by medio Jatin Bisht who, otherwise, did precious little in the match. He was also guilty of holding on to the ball for far too long. The draw took Mahindras' points tally to 19 from 12 ties while bottom-placed Vasco boosted theirs to 9 from the same number of outings.
