Sao Paulo:

Former Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo will return to Brazil to manage Santos, the team he left late last year to go to Spain. Luxemburgo, who led Santos to the 2004 national championship, is expected to return to Brazil this weekend to sign a two-year contract. According to Pele's website, the coach will receive a monthly wage of 500,000 reals ($220,264). The website said Luxemburgo rejected offers to coach the national teams of World Cup-bound Iran and Saudi Arabia, and that he may be allowed to rescind his contract with Santos should he be called on to coach Brazil's national team in 2007. Real Madrid fired Luxemburgo on December 4 after nearly a year as the Spanish team's manager. (AP)
