A Michael Owen hat-trick edged Liverpool closer to a place in the second phase of the Champions League as Gerard Houllier's team came from behind to win 3-1 at Spartak Moscow. After Alexander Danishevskiy had given Spartak a 23rd minute lead, Owen headed Liverpool level six minutes later. The England striker fired a second from close range in the 70th after the home team had failed to clear a corner and tapped in a third in the final minute. (AP)
