Liverpool:

Liverpool is preparing to meet Greece's Olympiakos in a vital Champions League clash on Wednesday. The English side's skipper Steven Gerrard insisted on Tuesday he will not accept second best by crashing out of the Champions League and into the UEFA Cup. The importance of Wednesday's crucial Champions League showdown with Greece's Olympiakos to Liverpool and Gerrard cannot be underestimated. If Rafael Benitez's men beat the Greek league leaders 1-0 or by two clear goals, they will progress to the final 16 of the tournament. Anything less will see them being dumped into the UEFA Cup draw by the end of this week, an eventuality which Gerrard refuses to speculate on. (AP)
