Adios!
That is it from this game then! The Hero ISL action continues tomorrow as East Bengal FC take on Chennaiyin FC and that will begin at 7.30 pm IST. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Awards
The Club Award goes to FCG for winning the game. The Hero of the Match Award goes to Iker Guarrotxena.
FCG rise on top!
FCG opened the scoring in the second minute of the game via Iker Guarrotxena's finish in front of the goal. The hosts showed a lot of creativity and doubled the lead via Noah Wail Sadaoui's strike in the twelfth minute of the game. Upon resumption, it was JFC that created plenty of chances and came close to scoring their first. FCG managed to survive that spell of pressure by JFC without conceding a goal. Brison Fernandes put the final nail in the coffin in added time with his first Hero ISL goal. Aidy Boothroyd kept bringing in changes in his quest to find a goal, but JFC found it difficult to find inspiration in the final third tonight. So, it is FCG that collect all three points from their first home game of the Hero ISL 2022-23 season. JFC will be disappointed with this performance and will now shift their focus towards their next game against Hyderabad FC.

Resumption!
This time it is FCG who get us underway in the second half. They will attack from left to right in this half.
An intriguing half!
FCG went ahead in the second minute of the game courtesy of Iker Guarrotxena slotting it home from a corner. The hosts doubled the lead ten minutes later when Noah Wail Sadaoui's strike found the back of the net. JFC looked rattled due to the early goals and as a result, they were unable to create much chances. FCG had a couple of chances to score their third but could not make it count. FCG will be hopeful of putting the game to bed early on in the second half. Whereas Aidy Boothroyd and his men will hope to capitalize on their chances in the second half and restore parity.
45'
Half time
The referee blows his whistle for half-time! After an entertaining 45 minutes and FCG lead the game by 2-0.
45'
Off the crossbar!

45'
Added time!
The officials signal that there will be a minimum of 2 minutes added at the end of the half. Can FCG hold on to their two-goal advantage?
44'
Fine save!
JFC getting close now. Farukh Choudhary gets a ball in the middle and he plays it towards Wellington Cirino Priori in the box. He takes a fine turn and takes a right-footed shot. The keeper is well aware of it and makes a good stop.
41'
Off target!
A mistake from the FCG defender which would have cost them a goal. A long ball from the JFC player but FCG heads it behind awkwardly. It goes towards Daniel Chukwu who plays it to Ritwik Das behind the box. He tries a right footed shot but it goes way over.
35'
FCG well in control
JFC players are trying hard to get ahead but the FCG defenders are spot on with their defense and are not allowing JFC players to get anyway near. FCG holds 64% of the possession so far whilst JFC holds 36%.
30'
Is that a foul?
FCG player plays a long ball to Noah Wail Sadaoui who is clear. He takes a brilliant touch but JFC defender gives him a nudge from behind just outside the box. FCG players complain for a foul but the referee lets the play go on.
28'
FCG continue to lead!
With just over 15 minutes remaining in the first half, it is the hosts that are looking threatening to put the game to bed with a third goal. JFC need a goal before the break and then look to reset and bounce back in the second half.
23'
Stoppage in play!
Ritwik Das gets whacked in the ribs as he went for the ball. He is down in discomfort and the medical team is out to check on him.
21'
Danger averted!
Noah Sadaoui is slotted a great ball by the midfield and makes his way into the box. Just when he is about to pull the trigger, Laldinliana Renthlei puts in a brave challenge and the ball rolls out for a goal kick.
18'
Off target!
Wellington Priori finds himself at the edge of the box and decides to try his luck from long. His shot fails to trouble Dheeraj Moirangthem as it sails way over the crossbar.
16'
Solid start by FCG!
This is just the start FCG would have hoped for in front of their home crowd. JFC are yet to recover from the twin blows. JFC need a goal soon to make a comeback into the game.
12'
GOOAAALLL
WOW! FC Goa double their lead inside 12 minutes. Although, all the credit goes to Brandon Fernandes to set up with a perfect through ball. Fernandes gets the ball near the halfway line and sees the run of Noah Wail Sadaoui in front of him and puts in a delicious through ball forward. Noah Wail Sadaoui gets at the end of it and sends it to the right bottom corner. JFC need to find their groove before it gets too late.

Not looking good
Oh no! Mohamed Fares Arnaout goes down on the ground and the physio rushes out on the field. Not a great sign as Mohamed Fares Arnaout is being taken out on the stretcher.
7'
Off target
Too high from Wellington Cirino Priori. He gets the ball near the right hand side of the box. He takes a step inside and unleashes, although fires it above the frame of the goal.
4'
Play halted
A concern for FCG as Mohamed Fares Arnaout seems to be in some pain and the physio comes out to have a look at him. Doesn't seem to be anything serious.
2'
GOOOALLLLLLL
What a start this is for FC Goa. Iker Guarrotxena finds the back of the net and he is delighted. The bench is up in celebration as well. Brandon Fernandes takes a quick short corner and Eduardo Bedia Pelaez then delivers a delightful in the six-yard box. Iker Guarrotxena is at the right place at the right time and he capitalizes on it.

Rehenesh TP (GK), Ricky Lallawmawma, Eli Sabia, Peter Hartley (C), Laldinliana Renthlei, Jitendra Singh, Wellington Cirino Priori, Boris Singh, Ritwik Das, Daniel Chukwu, Farukh Choudhary.
FC Goa (Starting XI)
Dheeraj Moirangthem (GK), Seriton Fernandes, Anwar Ali, Mohamed Fares Arnaout, Aibanbha Dohling, Eduardo Bedia Pelaez, Redeem Tlang, Noah Wail Sadaoui, Ayush Dev Chhetri, Brandon Fernandes (C), Iker Guarrotxena.
Homecoming!
After playing their first 3 games away from home, FCG are back in Goa and will look to use the home conditions and support to their advantage. FCG didn't have their best campaign in Hero ISL 2021-22 as they finished 9th in the league but they seemed to have turned a new leaf. FCG have pretty much kept the same core but look more potent in front of goal than they did in Hero ISL 2021-22. They already have had 2 wins out of 3 away games which is a great return and will now look to snatch all three points off a JFC team that hasn't quite hit their best form yet. Talking about JFC, they finished 24 points ahead of their opponents in Hero ISL 2021-22 and won both their league fictures against FCG without much fuss. Having lost their star player and their coach ahead of Hero ISL 2022-23, it was always going to be tough for them. They have been able to get their first win on the board and a win here could take them a point ahead of FCG as well. So, all to play for as every team will feel that getting early wins on the board will help ease the pressure later on in the competition.
Matchweek 5!
It is now time for Matchweek 5 in the Hero ISL 2022-23 to get underway and the first fixture in this matchweek is between FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC to be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa. Both FCG and JFC have played 3 matches each whereas most teams in the league have already played 4 matches. The two teams are in the middle of the points table with a couple of points separating them. FCG have won a couple of matches but suffered a loss at the hands of HFC in their last encouter. On the other hand, JFC managed to pick up their first win of the campaign against a struggling NEUFC side last time around and hence have a bit of momentum coming into this clash. FCG, even with that loss, have been a better side than their oppoenents thus far and will hope to get back to winning ways. JFC did finish atop the points table in Hero ISL 2021-22 and would want that previous win over NEUFC to serve as a catalyst for better things to come. Will either side be able to bag all 3 points?
