Buenos Aires:
But that's behind him now - especially after the club beat league co-leader Estudiantes 1-0 on Wednesday to pull the club within a point of the top of the table.
"I had made up my mind to leave and had told the club leadership," La Volpe, the former Mexican national team manager said on Argentine radio station La Red in recalling events of last Sunday. In the end, his offer to resign wasn't accepted.
