London: Tonight is a big night for Manchester United. The richest and most famous football club in the world faces the prospect of elimination from the UEFA champions league, an elimination that could cost them 20 million pounds as well. What they have to do is overturn a 1-0 deficit to Hungarian side Zalaeger-zeg at Old Trafford tonight in the return leg of the final round of qualifying. Manchester United began their preparations for a tricky home tie against Zalaegerszeg with a trip to London and came away with a 2-2 draw against Chelsea, courtesy a gem of a goal from David Beckham's left foot. But United quests for trophies and glory have been decimated even before the season started when 30 million signing Rio Ferdinand twisted his ankle a few weeks back in a friendly match against Boca Juniors. Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson though is confident that his side is now up to speed despite early season injury worries. "We've had some bad injury runs for years. Some years you have bad spells when you are decimated and right down to the bare bones. But everybody has that and that's why you need a strong player pool to cope with these situations. But we can't afford to have another injury to a defender. If we keep to that we're ok," said Sir Ferguson. Peter Bozsik, the Zalaegerszeg Manager, denies that his side will be overawed by the occasion or that they will adopt a defensive role to protect their 1-0 advantage. "If you know our team, you should know they do not only defend. Also be aware that Manchester United tomorrow evening will force us to defend our side, but we must have a goal tomorrow evening and to achieve a goal we must attack," said Bozsik. If Zalaegerszeg can finish the job tonight they will have created the biggest story in Hungarian soccer since the Magical Magyars in the 1950s.
