Italy and France, minus megastar Zinedine Zidane, are set to meet again in a Euro 2008 qualifier match.

Paris:

In what could be termed as a sequel to the FIFA World Cup 2006 final between Italy and France, the two teams, minus megastar Zinedine Zidane, are set to meet again in a Euro 2008 qualifier match. The Italians will be playing without Alessandro Delpiero, Francesco Totti and Alessandro Nesta. The world champions evoked criticism from the national press for their performance in a Euro 2008 qualifier against Lithuania, which ended in a draw. But newly appointed coach Donadoni believes the Italians are looking confident. He also thinks this match is decisive, though not crucial. The French side, on the other hand, began their Euro 2008 campaign on a winning note, beating Georgia 3-0 last week. But the team claims it is not looking at revenge against the Italians who beat them on penalties in the FIFA cup final just two months ago. "I think for other people. They are talking about revenge but for us what is really important is to get focused on the game. That is really important for us, just to win the game, to get three points and that's it," said Patrick Vieira, Captain, France Football Team. All eyes are now on the clash of the two teams and hopefully no more head butting on the field.
