Italy and France recovered from weekend setbacks to register victories on another busy European night of World Cup qualifying. Italy, which lost their first World Cup qualifier for 11 years in Slovenia on Saturday, edged Belarus 4-3, while France defeated Cyprus. There were also wins for England, the Czech Republic, Norway and Sweden, while Andorra and Liechtenstein made history with their first-ever World Cup qualifying successes. Russian coach Georgy Yartsev has also hinted that he may resign following his side's humiliating 7-1 defeat to Portugal in a World Cup qualifier.
