Rome:

Inter Milan stretched its unbeaten streak to 20 matches but failed to claim a share of third place in the Serie A after coming back to draw 1-1 with visiting underdog Chievo Verona. Obafemi Martins got Inter's equaliser in the 83rd minute on Saturday following a melee for his seventh goal of the season. Ten minutes earlier, defender Davide Mandelli volleyed in a corner kick to give Chievo a 1-0 lead at San Siro. Place at stake It was Inter's 14th draw of the season and will likely cost the team ground on leader Juventus and second-place AC Milan. Inter is now in fourth place with 32 points, two behind third-place Udinese. Chievo, which is winless since early December, moved to 22 points but is still near the relegation zone. Bologna beat Cagliari In the only other match of the day, striker Claudio Bellucci scored a second-half game-winner, and lowly Bologna beat Cagliari 1-0 to move into a safer mid-table place. Bellucci, who had missed four scoring chances in the first half, netted the decisive goal in the 70th minute with a left-footed diagonal shot at Dall'ara stadium in Bologna. The home team, stretching its unbeaten streak to five matches, climbed to 24 points, in a tie with Reggina and Messina. Cagliari, which was coming off a prestigious 1-1 draw with Juventus, lost veteran star Gianfranco Zola before the end of the first half, due to a light strain, and had virtually no scoring chances throughout. The Sardinian team was left with 26 points following its eighth loss of the season. (AP)
